Museum Wall Panels
— ABOUT MY WORK
These panels, which pay tribute to the men and women who have served in the uniformed services and have a connection to New Buffalo, Michigan (whether they lived, worked, or attended New Buffalo Area Schools), are part of a permanent exhibit at the New Buffalo Railroad Museum. Over 1,200 individuals are listed, by conflict, dating back to the Civil War.

The exhibit is located in a C&O boxcar that lacks environmental controls such as heating or air conditioning, which posed a unique challenge. To address this issue, we chose to print the panels on vinyl and mount them on corrugated plastic, which could withstand a wide range of temperature and humidity fluctuations. We created a total of seventeen panels, each measuring 42″ x 16″. To minimize any buckling that might result from expansion and contraction, all printed panels were attached to a railing set off from the wall, which allowed for air flow around each panel.
