About Judi

A successful graphic designer and art director for almost 30 years at design agencies and in the corporate world, Judi is a case study in how form follows function. Judi and her husband, Brian, raise llamas on their homestead in Three Rivers, Michigan. Each spring she would have a great deal of llama fiber from shearing the animals to relieve them of heat-related stress. Judi felt it was calling to put the material to a creative use.

She took her talent and training at the Kendall School of Design and Western Michigan University, added the knitting and crocheting skills learned as a child from her Mother and Grandmother and mixed well with the beautiful, soft and clean fiber from the llamas. Add vintage jewelry, beads, buttons, feathers, shells, fabrics, fur and other natural fibers and the result: Unique and finely crafted fiber art fashion and accessories.

Judi's work can be seen at area shows and craft markets throughout the year under the banner Moondance Fibre Art. One of her pieces, Grey Purse (shown center left) was featured in an issue of the international magazine dedicated to breeding Llamas and Alpacas – Camelid Quarterly.
